Services: Communications strategy, international media relations, thought leadership, training in PR

Sparrowhawk Communications supported the launch of Paying the Costs of Connection, the largest study of its kind into young adults’ digital health and rights. The research, spanning Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, and Vietnam, highlights how stigma, poor infrastructure, digital exclusion and online abuse block access to vital health information and services online. Our role was to develop and deliver a strategic international media campaign that positioned the report as a major study in the global health and rights landscape.

We helped shape key messages, drafted press materials and secured coverage, from the BBC World Service's Tech Life programme to specialist international development media. To ensure impact beyond publication, Sparrowhawk Communications delivered tailored media training for spokespeople in four countries, equipping them with the skills and confidence to successfully engage with journalists and advocate for their findings on a global stage.

We were delighted with the media support provided for the Digital Health and Rights Project at The University of Warwick. Thanks to this work, our report achieved coverage on the BBC World Service and several specialist international development outlets.

This helped ensure our findings reached global audiences. Equally valuable was the media training delivered to our spokespeople across four countries, which gave them the skills and confidence to communicate our research effectively.
